Sheriff Joe Lombardo Files To Run For Governor At Nevada State Capitol

March 14, 2022

CARSON CITY, NV – Today, Republican gubernatorial candidate and Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo officially filed to run for Nevada governor at the Secretary of State’s office at the Nevada State Capitol.

Immediately after filing, Lombardo was joined by campaign supporters from across northern Nevada and Sheriff Ken Furlong of Carson City and Sheriff Mike Allen of Humboldt County.

“It was an honor to officially file to run for governor in Carson City this morning,” said Lombardo. “Our state is going in the wrong direction, but I’ve got experience and leadership that Nevadans can trust to get us back on track. As I’ve traveled across the state, I’ve come to believe that the majority of Nevadans share common values: we want safer communities, better schools, and more economic opportunities. We need new leadership, but I believe our best days are ahead of us, and I look forward to continuing to share our message with voters across the state.”

Lombardo’s official candidate filing follows his massive $3.1 million fundraising haul, in which he outraised every other Republican gubernatorial candidate.

Since Lombardo announced his candidacy for governor in June, his campaign has opened field offices in Las Vegas and Reno, in addition to implementing aggressive grassroots voter contact efforts across the state.
