Lombardo Campaign Releases Statement Following Aaron Ford's IndyTalks

LAS VEGAS, NV – The Lombardo Campaign released the following statement following Aaron Ford's IndyTalks event:

"Aaron Ford can spin, deflect, and rewrite his record all he wants, but the facts speak for themselves: His plan would cost Nevadans $18 billion, he spent more than 420 days traveling all over the world while in elected office, a fact independently reported by the Nevada Independent, he is endorsed by Gavin Newsom, has flip-flopped on more issues than anyone can count, faces an open ethics investigation for using his office for personal gain, falsely claimed law enforcement support in a campaign ad, and failed to pay his taxes but wants to raises taxes to fund his California-style agenda. Aaron Ford is simply unfit for office and he certainly does not deserve a promotion.”

Aaron Ford is asking Nevadans for a promotion, but his track record raises serious questions about his ability to lead:

Ford spent more than 420 days outside Nevada while serving as attorney general. His extensive travel included trips funded by special interests, and reporting from the LVRJ found that he was out of state for roughly one-third of 2024 alone.
Aaron Ford's agenda would cost $18 billion with no plan to pay for it. Every Nevada family would be handed the bill for Ford's policies, whether they can afford it or not, to the tune of $14,000 per the average Nevada household.
Ford promoted policies that would move Nevada closer to becoming a sanctuary state. As a state senator, he was a primary sponsor of SB 223, which sought to restrict cooperation between state and local agencies and federal immigration authorities.
Ford entertained the “defund the police” movement instead of rejecting it outright. During the unrest of 2020, he participated in discussions with activists about what “defund” should mean.
Ford helped advance legislation that weakened Nevada’s criminal justice laws. He said he was “intimately involved” in AB 236, which critics have linked to weaker penalties and a subsequent increase in retail theft.
Ford opposed federal legislation that delivered no tax on tips. He publicly attacked the legislation despite Nevada’s service workers standing to benefit from the provision.
Ford failed to pay his own taxes. He was previously subject to more than $185,000 in IRS liens for underpaid federal taxes between 2010 and 2014.
Ford faced multiple arrests and other legal trouble in the 1990s. The incidents involved public intoxication, failure to appear in court, and a theft charge.
Ford has repeatedly failed to provide Nevadans with basic transparency. His office has faced scrutiny over its refusal to disclose the cost of lawsuits against the Trump administration and questions surrounding incomplete travel records.
Ford has proudly defended controversial DEI mandates. He positioned himself as a leading defender of race-based diversity policies and encouraged people to “stay woke.”

The bottom line: Aaron Ford spent over a year traveling the world on special-interest-funded trips while advancing policies that made Nevada less safe, less affordable, and less transparent. That is not a record deserving of a promotion.
