ICYMI WITH VIDEO: Nevada Law Enforcement Sends Cease-and-Desist Letter Over Aaron Ford's False Endorsement Ad

LAS VEGAS, NV – This weekend, it was revealed that Aaron Ford's latest campaign advertisement reuses footage from his previous campaigns for attorney general and features individuals wearing the logo and badge of the Nevada Association of Public Safety Officers (NAPSO) and the Las Vegas Police Protective Association (LVPPA) – neither of which authorized the use of their names, logos, or likenesses in the 2026 gubernatorial race.

The advertisement also recycles language that referred to claims made during the 2018 attorney general campaign, creating the false impression that those statements and endorsements apply to Ford's campaign for governor today. As a result, multiple law enforcement organizations have issued cease-and-desist letters demanding the advertisement be removed.

Dave Kallas, a retired law enforcement officer featured prominently in Ford's recycled footage, also responded directly, making clear that he does not endorse Aaron Ford for governor and accusing Ford of using the old footage to mislead Nevadans. "If he'll lie to Nevadans about something this clear, what else is he willing to lie to us about?" Kallas said, before reiterating his endorsement of Governor Joe Lombardo.

"The Las Vegas Police Protective Association did not authorize any individual to wear or display the LVPPA logo or badge in Aaron Ford's campaign advertisement, nor did we authorize our organization's name or likeness to be used to imply an endorsement in the 2026 race for Governor,” said John Abel, Director of Governmental Affairs at the LVPPA. “We have issued a cease-and-desist letter to the Ford campaign demanding that this misleading advertisement be removed. Furthermore, our position is clear: the Las Vegas Police Protective Association proudly supports Governor Joe Lombardo for reelection."

“Aaron Ford got caught. He took years-old footage, repackaged it to manufacture law enforcement support he doesn’t have, and hoped Nevadans wouldn’t notice. Now, the law enforcement officer featured in his own ad is calling him out and setting the record straight,” said Halee Dobbins, Lombardo for Governor Spokesperson. “Dave Kallas doesn’t endorse Aaron Ford. The LVPPA doesn’t endorse Aaron Ford. Nevada’s major law enforcement organizations are standing with Governor Joe Lombardo. Ford can recycle old footage, but he can’t manufacture the trust and support Governor Lombardo has earned from Nevada law enforcement.”
