Governor Lombardo Announces “Nevadans Working Together” Plan

Building on his record of results, Governor Lombardo's plan lays out how he will keep Nevada moving in the right direction on housing, education, the economy, healthcare, and public safety

LAS VEGAS - Today, Governor Lombardo announced “Nevadans Working Together - Building the Future We Choose,” his plan for the next four years as Governor. The plan builds on his record of results and focuses on a simple commitment: Nevada will build at the speed it grows, and Nevadans will be first in line for the opportunity that growth creates.

"I am a big believer in the promise of Nevada, and I look forward to our future with great hope and anticipation. I realize, at the same time, there are challenges that lie ahead and decisions to be made that will have a lasting effect on us, our children and their children. We need to get it right. As Nevadans, we have repeatedly proven there is nothing we can’t accomplish if we agree to work together. That is who we are. In that spirit, I have outlined five foundational pillars upon which we can and will build the future we want. Together, we won’t simply live in the future, we will define it."

The vision plan builds on Governor Lombardo's record of results which includes: 100,000 new jobs, $6 billion in private investment, 900 burdensome regulations cut, the single largest education investment in state history – $2 billion in new funding, graduation rates increasing, teacher vacancies down roughly 80% in Clark County, groundbreaking on Nevada’s first standalone children’s hospital, 27,000 new healthcare jobs added, crime rates going down, and no new taxes.

Care You Can Count On, Close to Home

Train more doctors, nurses, and health professionals in Nevada, and give them real incentives to stay.
Raise the floor on quality everywhere in the state and close the distance between Nevadans and their doctor with telehealth and partnerships that bring world-class expertise to every county, so no Nevadan has to leave the state for care.
Target healthcare as an industry to recruit and grow - research, medical technology, and training institutions that create jobs and keep the medical talent close to home.

A Home You Can Afford

Expand the Attainable Housing Program’s down payment support and interest-rate buy-downs so nurses, teachers, military families, and first responders can own a home in the community they serve.
Ensure that when a home comes up for sale, Nevada families compete with each other, not with out-of-state investors and corporate buyers.
Work hand in hand with federal partners to release more federal land for attainable housing - Nevada’s single biggest lever on supply.
Cut red tape and streamline permitting so homes get built at the speed families need.

An Education System That Continues to Deliver Results and Puts Students First

Every child reads at grade level by third grade - hard stop - with increased support directed to the schools and students who need it most.
Raise per-pupil funding and raise accountability for classroom results right alongside it; if another school, public, charter, or private, is a better fit for a child, that child gets the opportunity.
Keep great teachers in every classroom with competitive pay and new pathways into the profession.

A Wage That Rises in an Economy That Delivers

Maintain the commitment to No New Taxes and create an annual sales tax holiday timed to back-to-school season.
Recruit the industries that match Nevada’s advantages, from critical minerals, healthcare, sports, technology, advanced manufacturing, to corporate headquarters, and train a workforce that’s always one step ahead, so Nevada workers get first crack at what’s next.
Rewrite Nevada’s tax abatement laws so every incentive is tied to real guardrails on power, water, local jobs, and investment - no blank checks.
Hold a firm commitment that no Nevadan loses power or pays higher rates to subsidize data centers.
Ensure a share of data center and other abated revenue is directed to K-12 education and workforce development.

Safer Neighborhoods and Stronger Communities

Close the fentanyl trafficking loophole for good: rewrite the threshold so anyone carrying enough to kill thousands is treated like the trafficker they are.
Crack down on human and drug trafficking at every level and ensure Nevada will not be a pass-through state for either.
Justice starts with the victim: violent and repeat offenders serve the sentences they’re given, no exceptions.
Back the officers who keep us safe with the pay, training, and support it takes to recruit and retain the best.
